Too Hot To Turn on the Oven???

If it's too hot to turn on the oven, but you don't want to spend the money ordering out, here's a recipe to try.

I adapted this recipe from one provided to the Seay Mansion Society cookbook (recipe by Sharon K. O'Hern. pg. 44).

Chicken Tetrazzini (Slow Cooker)

Ingredients:
2-3 Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts
1 Cup Water
1 Medium Bell Pepper chopped fine
1/2 Medium Onion chopped fine (optional)
2 tbsp. Olive Oil
1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 lb Velveeta cut into small cubes
1/2 Spaghetti Noodles

Add Chicken Breasts and Water to slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours.

Remove Chicken from slow cooker, leaving water. Add Velveeta and Cream of Mushroom Soup to slow cooker. Meanwhile, begin heating water for Spaghetti Noodles and heat Olive Oil over medium heat.

Add Spaghetti Noodles to boiling water and saute Bell Pepper and Onion (optional) in Olive Oil until tender.

Add Bell Pepper and Onion to slow cooker and stir.  Shred Chicken. Add to slow cooker and stir.  Stir occasionally until Velveeta is completely melted. Add cooked Spaghetti Noodles, covering well with mixture in slow cooker.

Mmmmm Breadsticks (Fazoli's)

When I hear the word Fazoli's, I think "Mmmmm, Breadsticks" (in a Homer Simpson "Mmmm Beer" voice) and I swear I can detect the aroma of their warm, buttery, garlic breadsticks tickling my nose. It's truly an experience.

Now, I have a couple excuses to head over there to load up on my carbs!!!

Free Sobe Lifewater at CVS

Sobe Lifewater is going to be on a BOGO sale again at CVS starting Sunday.  I recommend getting out early in the week to stock up.

If you don't have any bogo coupons left from the Sobe Heads or Tails Game, head over an play it again. I haven't heard if that coupon has reset. So let me know what you find out.

WI was just at Walmart and it looks like they're clearancing out their summer candy.  I saw a display of mostly Hersey bars, but a few other types of candy - like Kit Kat bars - on clearance for $0.50.

Shout Color Catchers Facebook Coupon

If you're on Facebook, head over to Shout's Fan Page to print a $0.55/1 coupon for Shout Color Catchers. Only print one though, because there are two coupons printed inside the package. 

I throw everything in the wash together, and use these things every time. I've never had a problem with clothes bleeding, even with reds in the wash... Until recently when washed a load without them and paid the price when a pair of brand new dark blue jeans found their way in with a load of mostly lights.

Buy for Less Matchups Aug 10 - 16

I've found from doing these matchups that Buy for Less' sale prices tend to be a little lower than Homeland's sale prices, so even though Homeland doubles coupons, don't rule out Buy For Less. They still compete.  I haven't had a chance to compare regular prices yet, but once I do, I'll pass that info along.

If the ad lists a price as 2/$5, you still get the discounted price of $2.50 if you buy only one.  You are not required to buy 2 to get the sale price.

Remember these tricks when creating your own deal -  You must have the same number of items as coupons, and Register Rewards will ring up like a manufacturer coupon, (that's why cheap fillers like pencils are necessary). Go to the cosmetic counter to be rung out, because it's less likely a line will form behind you.  This means you and the cashier will be less stressed by other customers getting impatient in line.

Get to Walgreens ASAP

Here's one of those rare occasions when you can roll a Register Reward at Walgreens for the same item. Normally, if you use a Register Reward to buy the same item a second time you don't get the Register Reward for a second time.

Here's why you need to get to Walgreens.  Secret Calming Effects Deodorant is on clearance for $2.29. There is a $3.00 Register Reward for Secret Deodorant, making this a $0.71 money maker.  Add to that, this $10 Mail in Rebate and you can turn this into a super money maker.  But hurry, when these things happen it's usually a programming issue that will probably be fixed very soon.

The Red Plum insert includes a $10 off Bayer Glucose Meter coupon.  Walgreens often runs deals on these meters, making them free after Register Rewards.  With this coupon, they could be a big money maker.
